Sheroes: a woman regarded as a hero

Though women constitute an important part of our society, so she needs her own identity. In today’s world, both aspects of our society, men and women from many parts of our country, are working together to create a beautiful space to live in without any discrimination. Even technology is playing important role in it.

Sheroes is a major step taken to allow women to showcase themselves. Here, we are going to discuss more how it has become a national platform for women’s connection.

The generation of an idea

The entire journey of Sheroes was started when there was huge discrimination going on in India. From Muzzafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, a small-town girl, Sairee Chahal, left her house at the age of 17 and joined JNU(Jawaharlal Nehru University) to complete her course of Russian language, started Sheroes.

Since Sairee was living in a small town, she had faced a lot of restrictions over her since her childhood. Even she had seen the gender discrimination going on in her city. In one of her interviews, she had also spoken about the orthodox mentality of the people. All these did not break her down but made her mentally strong.

She realized that nothing is made for women in general. Also, there is so much gender gap everywhere. There was very little opportunity for women to grow. The exposure to them to work was also very little. Looking after all these toxic scenarios, Sairee Chahal thought of creating something for women and fill up the gender gap by providing them all sorts of opportunities including the women workforce. Here comes the idea of Sheroes and finally it was launched in 2013.

What was Sheores all about?

Sheroes is an online community for women, connecting millions of women all over India. Through this, the women can openly express themselves, connect and discuss everything with the other women there, showcase their talent, take part in different activities, make their communities, get an expert tip for free, and many more.

It is a great platform where women are connecting and discussing over anything freely. It gave them an opportunity to speak about domestic violence, harassment at the workplace, or anything like this. Through Sheroes, women get the strength to speak about everything as they find companions to motivate them to take major decisions.

Sheroes is helping women to find jobs and work remotely, apart from their daily household chores, speak about their mental health and get advice, fashion and beauty tips, etc. We can say that overall Sheroes is made by focussing women at the center.

It became so popular as it is targetting the entire age groups of women. However, Facebook’s mainly targeted age groups were the women between 18-34 and it is not that sufficient in making companionship, trust, and empathy. But, Sheroes is fulfilling all these vacancies left out by Facebook.

The stringent growth

At first, soon after the 2 years of the dispatch of Sheroes, in 2015, it did quite well. Since it was effective in giving positions and development invocations to ladies, it turned out to be famous because of this. Altogether there were around 1 million ladies and 20,000 organizations with 100,000 occupation postings in a solitary month was seen. It was a wonderful climb for Sheroes.

After this, there are more than 18 million ladies enrolled in Sheroes at this point. Indeed, even the quantity of organizations likewise rose to prompt an ascent in the number of occupation postings.
